helium balloons

Post by pilvikki »

you know, when you buy a helium balloon, it's in the ceiling all day. and then it dies, no matter how tight you've closed it off.

where does the helium go? or how?

The helium percolates through the skin of the balloon thus reducing the amount inside to provide lift.

It also escapes through the imperfectly sealed end of the balloon.

The ballons are usually made of mylar so the rate is low but helium is such a small atom that it's hard to keep it in anything for any length of time and especially in a 50 cent balloon.
If you blow up a normal rubber balloon with helium it only lasts for a few hours.

The shiny balloons can often last for several weeks before the helium eventually escapes into the air.

While some of that is posting at the same time that the previous poster is posting, or before that previous post appears (I have done that quite a bit), some of it is not reading previous posts before posting. That, and/or refusal to accept any other explanation than their own preconceived ideas on the subject in spite of all proof to the contrary.

Happens all the time (I'm sure you've noticed)! ;)

icy! you silly git! you've NO idea what kind of comments i've seen on some websites. not only do the people NOT read what's been posted, they get livid when you mention the fact that it would be much more sensible to actually check your stats before going off the rails about some urban myth f. ex.

No guys - the sad face was because I've been guilty of misconstruing previous posts, or not read them properly. Oh the shame, the shame .....

I'm pretty sure that any crimes confessed to a priest do not have to be reported to the authorities. It's one of those rare situations where confidentiality is upheld. In theory the priests are not allowed to discuss confessions amongst themselves. Of course they are only human, and we don't know what really goes on.
