As "The Day" Draws Nigh...

Post by kg »

I thought this appropriate to the Forum Topic:

What steps will you be taking to minimize the impact of the 21st? And remember...

There are only 7 more shopping days 'til the End Of The World!

It does, doesn't it? :P

Perhaps I should rephrase...what will you be doing to add to the annoyance? As long as it's the end of the world, you might as well have some fun before it's over.

There several million "amusing" Facebook users out there...think of the potential!

Ohhh .... I can think of LOADS of ways of having fun, but none of it'll involve FB. I started today actually. Popped out to shop for a few "bits and bobs", and ended up spending way over £200. The OH's expression was ... challenging, to say the least.

I might celebrate my birthday early, and I might as well have a few alcoholic drinks for a change. I could even smoke a packet of cigarettes, instead of the 1 or 2 that I might have every 6 months, but then again, if I'm still here on the 22nd, I might regret that!

My case's packed with essentials, for whether I go upstairs or down, and at least I'll be surrounded by family and friends on the actual day.

On the 20th, I could park the car wherever I want, break speed limits and run naked down the road. Then again ... should the 21st be like other days, I might be writing letters to everyone from HM prison. :(

OR, I COULD join Facebook, couldn't I?

Ahh ... so much to do, so little time. Decisions, decisions ....

You have all the bases covered, don't you Icey? :lmao4:

Myself, I will comport myself as usual, conserving, saving, and editing my novel as if there IS a tomorrow! ;)

If there isn't, then nothing lost, in the long run. But if there IS, I can experience yet more fun, elbowing and razzing everyone else from the confines of the oh-so-arrogant "I told you so" camp! laughat:

Of course, I say this realizing that if I'm wrong, I won't be subjected to reverse razzing. But still...think of the potential! :P

You're probably the kind of guy who razes people on January 1st each year when THAT calendar starts anew.

I'm thinking we should organize a galactic-time New Years Day party. Let me see now, if a galactic year is 25,000 earth years, then the first day of the new galactic year would last 6.8 (more or less) earth years. That would be one hell of a party. I say let's go for it.

I've just had a thought:

If you think Facebook is going to be bad, can you imagine Twitter?!

#I am now in the front room awaiting the end.

#I am now in the bathroom, sitting on the throne and making my final ablutions.

Assuming that I'm still alive, I'll be SLEEPING through a large portion of 'the most annoying day on Facebook,' and I'll be working throughout the rest of it...so, thankfully, I'll be spared most of the annoyance :D

The party idea sounds great!

I wish I could do the same, brandtrn, but we have annual guests arriving already, and by Friday I'll be even busier than I've been for the rest of the week!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the world is ending...or not. What a surprise the world is still here, i never saw that coming.

LOL, the Australians on FB are class. Obviously the Mayans didn't take into account that there would be different time zones. All the Australians have been saying the 21st is almost over in Oz and the world is still here. That just incensed the loonies saying as long as it's the 21st somewhere the world can still end. Delusional to the end. :lmao4: :lmao1:

Well, I'm just put out! Here I made sure I was snappily dressed for the occasion, and the world still hasn't ended! Something better happen soon, or I'll have to send a letter of protest to President Obama...it's his fault, after all! :P
