i finally started publishing - mum approves.

Post by threenorns »

this one's cute: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/165253

this one has upset a few ppl: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/179189
(but, since the first reviewer took four paragraphs to leave her really really negative opinion, i'll say it's a hit, since it clearly had an impact. "meh" would've been bad. i wouldn't like a "meh" review)

do feel free to leave an honest review - mind the stars, though: they're tucked away at the bottom of the input box and are really hard to see on some monitors (like mine).

So ... do I have to become a member of Smashwords in order to download a readable version of the book/story?

no - the link will take you directly to the download page. you only need to register if you want to publish and yeah, to leave a review.

Oh no no no.... There's already a place to post your writings, stories and such.
It's under Personal Pursuits.....

Dennis is setting up a Blog type of venue, where I can post Writing Help Topics, then others can add their two bits as comments.
Makes looking for an Article much easier.

Now I have to get busy putting some articles together.
Where to start, hmmmmm.

There...I've added my critique to "Shadow Cat." I meant what I said in the critique; ignoring a reality, or pretending it doesn't exist, doesn't negate its existence. The only way to resolve such situations is by directly confronting them and bringing them to light.

I can't believe that two reviewers stated they would not have read the story had they realized the content. Content is not a valid reason for rejection of a writing...it's how that content is handled and presented which provides the justification, and I believe you handled it very well.
