Re: [split] Should bras be a no-no?
My dad spent a lot of money to hire John Gnagy to teach me sorta privately, a small class of four. No matter what, I just couldn't get it. He was a great teacher and tried his best, working with me one on one for hours on end. When it came time to sign up for the next semi-private session, he wouldn...

Re: [split] Should bras be a no-no?
Way back when I was playing music on weekends, I practiced for an hour a day. One of the gals who worked for us often sat on my front porch at lunch to listen. She was an excellent designer, and hoped to work in the office instead of on the floor. Toward her goal, she took the same typing classes fo...

Re: [split] Should bras be a no-no?
With my medical condition, I understand completely Icey. It all depends how the synapses in our head are connected, what we can grasp easily, and which things become nearly impossible. So there is much more to how our headbone works than just trying to learn something. If our heads all worked the sa...

Re: [split] Should bras be a no-no?
Great information there Icey, and I agree with all of it! Although I'm not considered a teacher, I did teach Votec for a couple of years. My department was in carpentry, but I had a couple of students interested in supply plumbing, so worked with them after school. One picked it up like a duck to wa...

Re: Should bras be a no-no?
I probably shouldn't have used the word slackers or implied laziness.
I think some folks do not have the ability to develop work ethics, much less put them to practice.

Re: Should bras be a no-no?
I probably shouldn't say this in public, but I find Asians to be more intellectual, and intelligent overall, compared to their same peer age groups in the US. They also have much stronger work ethics, and dedicate themselves to their jobs. We saw this first hand in our warehouse districts back home....

Re: Should bras be a no-no?
I'm always afraid to talk about my experiences, and what I have gleaned from them, because many feel my most honest remarks are condescending. Cultures evolve at their own established rate. This is how they become strong, unified, and in most cases thrive. Referring now to animals only: When you rem...

Re: Should bras be a no-no?
Many things have changed considerably at the mission sites since the late '60s and early '70s. Sorta sad in a way too. Many have given up their centuries long customs and became more modern in dress, but not so much in economics. The most visited mission sites have come to rely on the missionaries b...

[split] Should bras be a no-no?
forumadmin Note: This topic was split from another post that drifted off topic. _______________________________________________________________ On our second mission trip, we had a moderately heavy bald headed fellow. Before one of our stops, he was told he had to wear a bandanna and a hat. He didn...

Re: medical blackmail
You would never believe the number of things I got by with when I was a kid. Nothing really bad of course, because we didn't think that way back then. But a swat on the behind made me think twice about trying some of my stunts again. The fastest way to get a kid to do something is to tell them they ...

Re: Should bras be a no-no?
I was on a couple of missions where you find the oddest things, some of which never made their way into National Geographic hi hi... Took three of us forever and a day to figure out what a group of young girls found so funny about us, they giggled every time we turned our back in their direction to ...

Re: medical blackmail
All I'm going to say is there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between a BEATING and a Simple and much needed Spanking. There are those parents who ABUSE and BEAT their kids. This is NOT discipline or correction. But is proof of a very SICK parent who should not be allowed to have kids anywhere near them, as the...

Re: Should bras be a no-no?
I wonder what the world would be like if women tried to hide their breasts and men wore enhancing underwear for their private parts? Hmm, like those gourd wearers in Africa maybe, hi hi...
I think most if it has to do with with Media using breasts to sell nearly everything.

Re: medical blackmail
Well Icey, the proof is in the pudding as they say. Compare the disciplined children of my era, to those undisciplined children of today. It's quite clear to see such a major behavioral difference between the two eras. We never had to put up with the vandalism, theft, shootings, gangs, thugs, etc. O...

One of my teachers drilled holes in a special paddle he set aside just for me. He learned to give it a twist at just the right moment to fray my britches. Then mom would tell dad, and remember, dad was the fastest belt in the mid-west, hi hi... I had to be good to survive, so never got by with anyth...

Re: Computer Question for Yogi
I could not get into my system, even from a live CD, it was really messed up big time. And of course, way over my head too. I do have several repair disks and use them to do things all the time. The old GRUB was easy to work with, and set how you want, the new GRUB2 or whatever they call it is not s...

Re: medical blackmail
Even back in the '50s when I was in school, time dosed medicines we turned into the teacher and she would make sure we took them at the time specified. Usually as soon as we got back from lunch. However, emergency medications, every child kept these on their own person at all times. If we were not i...

Re: Computer Question for Yogi
Agreed! Being down here in east podunk all alone, I don't have anyone to bounce things off of. Trying to use the various websites associated with a topic, usually brings about tons of more questions not relevant to the problem. Or you get debased pretty hard for not knowing the prerequisites or get ...
