Re: MPs vote in favour of 'three-person embryo' law

The people who have had children suffer this disease have been asking for this for years, the poor parents have had to wade through a lot of red tape put there by the religious right to stop the 'three-person embryo'. This hasn't just been a quick fix, this has been argued for a long time. You have ...

MPs vote in favour of 'three-person embryo' law

MPs have voted in favour of making Britain the first country in the world to permit IVF babies to be created using biological material from three different people to help prevent serious genetic diseases. http://www.theguardian.com/science/2015/feb/03/mps-vote-favour-three-person-embryo-law Got to t...

Re: Athiest Thread.

Stephen Fry is a legend. I love him on twitter. His views gain him death threats from "peace loving christians" but he never stops.

Re: well, surprise...

I don't agree. Scientific facts can be proven, a belief can't. Science can say we believe this, and here are the scientific facts to back up our claims. Someone who simply believes can offer absolutely no facts at all, they can't even offer logic. No one is ever born a believer, you're told to be on...

The only way we'll ever get cheap energy is when we harness fusion power, but it's still a long way off i think.

Re: Walk of shame...

Well said, brandtrn, the Target stores management acted disgustingly. Very unprofessional and just plain wrong. The "severe emotional distress" this guy suffered before his own death must have been horrific. Talked to a solicitor/lawyer friend of mine and he says he's pretty certain Target will pay ...

Re: Walk of shame...

Gary, why are you getting so angry? Target means nothing over here, so how could i have a personal issue? This guy's, "miserable life" as you so eloquently put it, wouldn't have ended had he not been humiliated in this disgusting manner by Target. It seems it was company policy to humiliate anyone a...

Re: Walk of shame...

Gary, your case is nothing like the case here. The four security guards didn't take you through the employee area to humiliate you. Target did! I can think of lots of reasons to sue Target, if i did this disgusting practice I'd expect to get sued. A corporation as big as Target should know better th...

Re: David Cameron says ....

I think Cameron, for once, was right. Freedom of speech and freedom of expression are two very important ideals. The pope was saying that maybe after the Charlie Hebdo attack that paper should have shut up. But to shut up would have made the terrorists win, to give out a message that any Islamic loo...

Humanist marriages should definitely be made legal, but naturist? Someone somewhere will marry them, but not sure how legal it'll ever be in this country. Suppose it cuts down on wedding costs, V's wedding dress cost a small fortune.

Re: Walk of shame...

This practice of Targets is evil! To parade an accused worker in front of the rest of the workers is despicable. And notice the word accused, no sign of the word guilty, just accused. I'm a boss and I've had to deal with my fair share of accusations from workers, but it has always been done privatel...

Re: Designer babies

I think it'll all come down to money, if you have enough of it you can have any baby you want. I don't think nature should just be allowed to have it's way, if that was the case many more babies would die every year, science must always strive to be better than nature. But better doesn't always mean...

Yes, I'd much rather trust a dog, as long as it wasn't food.
