Who ... was complaining about tiredness???? My motto is - enjoy life until you drop, and if you keep busy, laziness, sloth and depression scarcely exist.

Cheap alcohol's partly to blame. Those with no work ethic slump into depression, which can be a serious illness, and to try and make themselves feel better, these people turn to drink and drugs to obliterate their negative feelings. Of course, we all know that it's just a temporary "high", but you can become addicted to both pretty quickly, and so the cycle begins.

It's up to parents to teach their children the benefits of hard work, and to make them feel good about themselves, but far too many can't be bothered - often because they've never been shown themselves. Also, with the high cost of living and seemingly working for nothing, some people commit suicide or have nervous breakdowns. There are hardly any facilities to treat folk with severe mental problems. They can't cope, yet continue to have children which they fail to bring up properly, and the state almost encourages it.

A lot of it's because they have everything at their fingertips today. Latest phone? Got one. Latest Xbox? Got one. They have no encouragement or incentive to use their imaginations and play with simple things when they're kids. They're out on the streets, no one caring about where they are or what they're doing. They hang around in gangs, but have nowhere to go, no money, no hobbies, nothing to do, and by the time they get into their teens, they're often lacking in education and've never done a day's work in their lives. The rot sets in and boredom takes over, so they turn to drink and drugs - then spiral downwards.

But totally understandable. This's why I think kids need nurturing and loving. Too many never get that, but a happy child's going to become a balanced adult, and parents can do so much to make that happen - if only they'd take the time.
