I guess whether he is over reacting depends on how you would see it if the shoe was on the other foot. If your other half has female friends and you found he signed off his texts with x's and o's, would this bother you? Maybe, maybe not. Possibly he is just a little more insecure in the relationship than you are. Maybe it's worth discussing it with him to see whether there's a little more to it than you think and possibly by calling him a div he still feels uncomfortable or insecure but just feels he can't talk to you honestly about it because you'll just laugh at him.

Sounds like he's feeling insecure WonderWoman. Perhaps he's had reason to feel like this in a past relationship, so you just need to reassure him that things are OK - or let him see the texts that pass between you and your friend, so that you can laugh about them together.

Ah - that's a point!! Lol - were you over-flirting with your friend WonderWoman??? : )
Partners can sometimes get over-touchy about friends of the opposite sex though, and there's nothing worse than unfounded jealousy if it gets out of hand. I'd hate to live with someone who was like that, having to watch who you spoke to, HOW you spoke and all the rest of it.
I'm quite tactile with close friends, whether male or female, yet I'm always mindful of my husband's feelings and never actually flirt with male friends unless it's in a jokey manner - but a kiss at the end of a text or email? It's nothing, is it.
