I took the snow pic from the front door of my house. Those cars with the glowing number plates are outside my house and it was the flash on my camera that made them glow.

Our number plates on the back of our vehicles show up at night when the lights of a vehicle behind us shine on them and especially on a dark road.It helps the cops if they want to run your plates for any reason.

i don't think ours do that? go figure, i can't think if they do at the moment..,. we do have to have a wee light over the plate so it's clearly visible.

You can't upload them here. They must be stored somewhere on the Internet, like Photobucket, then linked to from there. If Yogi were to allow images to be uploaded directly to the board, they would take a large amount of storage space, which would decrease the storage space available to the rest of the board (like these posts) and we would quickly run out of space, requiring Yogi to either delete some of the things stored here or increase the storage space, which can become expensive.

There are very few BBS like this that allow uploading images directly. The Ubuntu Help Forums are one, but instead of an individual (or a group of individuals) supporting the site, the Ubuntu Help Forums are supported by Canonical, a corporation. They not only can afford the extra money for the lease on a host system, but can afford to host their own (and likely do).

Sometimes I think some of my posts take more room than any photo, though! :shifty:

<Edit> As an afterthought...we do upload images here...they're called Avatars. That's the only images we're able to upload, though, unless we choose one from the site gallery, and they're limited both in physical and file size.
