the way i look at it is, why not? when they say "clinically safe", it's been "clinically proven" to be utter crap, no matter how they protest. so, just help a body out, in many cases the patient is saying "whatever! just do something!"

it must be infuriating for them to know there may be help, but alas, they want to keep testing for a few years to make sure it's "safe". if you're in excruciating pain or will die in a few months' time, safety is hardly an issue.

I know. I tried to look at it that way as well, but personally, my own sense of self-preservation'd not make me want to take anything which might hasten the end. I'm sure some folk'd want to give it a bash though, so it's a two-way situation.
