Salt

Do you sprinkle salt on your cooked meals? I hardly ever use it.

Over here, processed and ready-meals're full of it anyway, but I was reading that in New York, restaurants and manufacturers mostly follow the guidelines. Well done!

I USED to, but don't have salt even on chips these days. You're right though - appetising smell!

Yes, true, although once you stop using salt, you get used to it after a bit.

I use butter, and you have to use something when making pastry and cakes.

Well ... it depends. Suppose you have a salad roll - if you put mayonnaise, salad cream or sauces on it, you're probably getting more calories than you would in a dab of butter, and if you make something like a fried sandwich ... bang goes the svelte look anyway. You're probably naturally slim?
