Sun Voyager (Sólfar) is sculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason (1931-1989). Sun Voyager is a dreamboat, an ode to the sun. Intrinsically, it contains within itself the promise of undiscovered territory, a dream of hope, progress and freedom. The sculpture is located by Sæbraut, by the sea in the centre of Reykjavík, Iceland.

sod, missed it!

I think that places like that have a stark beauty all of their own. Not sure which part my friend's going to, but she's so excited because she's never been so far north before. She's going with her sister, and they've paid less than £400 each for almost a week there. It'll be lovely for them.

I would love to go to iceland! My roommate went a couple years ago (he is Norwegian) and loved it. He took plenty of photos all over the island.. it's so beautiful! Have you seen the crack in the Earth where the first Icelandic parliament used to meet?

Southwestern Iceland. Don't quote me on this, but I believe it's the spot where two tectonic plates meet (and are drifting apart).. the area has a lot of volcanic activity as well! How neat is that? A bunch of vikings get together to form a government and choose a volcano as a meeting spot! hahaha..

So pretty!

Mwhahahaha!!!! I'm the opposite. I hate things to be in orderly fashion. My table and desk can get loaded with this and that, but I know where things are because it's derived from my own chaos, but I can forget where I left a key, for example - but it might be staring me in the face!!

My OH drives me mad. If you looked into his wardrobe and drawers, you'd find nicely laundered piles of stuff - socks together, shirts hung by colour. He moves them round if someone puts them in the wrong place. Now MY wardrobe and drawers are full of exciting things which surface every so often; things I swear I never had!! : )

i want to be as organized as your OH, but alas, it usually ends up more like yours. when i lived by myself, it was great to find things exactly where i'd put it.

no more, now i put things in SAFE places.

Oh LOL!!!

They say something about a tidy person having a tidy mind - whatever that's supposed to mean - but then they say genius works with chaos, so I'll stay with the latter! Well ... I can always pretend ....
