Seattle pictures!

Postby StVandal » 06 Aug 2013, 13:12

I thought I'd share a few of the pictures I've taken around town this summer. :)

Here's a few pictures in the ID
[ img ]
A little park sandwiched between a Starbucks, an office building, the Metro tunnel and King Street Station.

[ img ]
The King Street clock being renovated..

[ img ]
Inside King Street Station. It was a train station built during the turn of the century (err.. not the last one, the one before that). It's amazingly beautiful. Instead of trains, it serves the Metro bus service now.

[ img ]
Taking the bus to work at 5am, right outside the 98101 post office.

[ img ]
Just an alley off Union st. I like alleys.

[ img ]
Up in Shoreline, there's a little park with a couple cannons just hanging out..

[ img ]
They belonged to the U.S.S. Boston, apparently.

[ img ]
pew pew pew!

[ img ]
A beautiful, sunny morning at the old Georgetown Brewery. I love old buildings like this.

[ img ]
And this is just one of the courtyards at SCCC looking pretty as the sun's going down.

Hope you enjoyed the pics! I always have my camera on me, let me know if there's something you want to see in Seattle and if I'm nearby I'll take a photo! :)

Wow - they're lovely photos. It doesn't look like the usual parts of the US I've seen.

Is it possible to get any mountain pics?

Not only is the subject matter interesting, but obviously you as a photographer also are highly talented. The composition is fantastic and suggests a story behind every scene. Excellent work Vandal :!: Thanks for sharing.

I could probably get some pictures of the mountains.. my camera's not super great, but on a clear day we can see both the Olympics and Mt Rainier!

Thanks, Yogi! I'm no photographer, but I do like taking pictures. I think sometimes I see things that naturally frame themselves and I just happen to think to take a picture of it.

That's precisely the makings of a good photographer. It's the same as when an artist just "sees" something and has to capture it.

Mount Rainier'd be fabulous. : )

 I'm as thick as a plank. I didn't realise it was by the sea. I thought Seattle stood on a river ....

I'm a little ways from the Pacific Ocean. I'm right next to the Puget Sound, which opens into the Pacific, though!

What do you call it then - a seaway? Inlet? Are you nearer to Victoria, where it's wider, or Tacoma? Oh hang on ... I just had a look on the map. I thought it stood next to a river, but I didn't realise it was so close to Washington - or IS it? Never checked the distance. I've learnt something here!

Sure thing, that's my name. I'm much close to Tacoma than Victoria. I'm right between Lake Washington and the Puget Sound. I guess you could look at the map here. It's been overcast lately so I haven't seen Mt Rainier in days!

We're so lucky here in Seattle. Within an hour or two in any direction, we have all the beaches, forests, mountains, rivers and lakes a person could possibly want!

I'll be out and about soon enough! haha.. I've been so stir crazy being cooped up in the house with this injury, but it's healing up nicely. Argh.. and the clouds! It's partly sunny today, but even partly sunny is enough to obscure the mountains.

Just joking. I'm sure the pics'll be worth the wait, but as with anyone, we all have reasons for not doing stuff immediately. It's just that your other photos were lovely, so we'd like to see some more. : )
