This was taken in April of 2007. Probably one of the best recent pictures of me.

What a lovely picture! Is your hair tied back pp, or is it short? You look ever so much like a cousin of mine.

Thanks, everyone, for the compliments!

Ice.Maiden ... my hair is short. I don't have it long anymore because I no longer look good with long hair. As I age, I find that having long hair makes me look older than I really am. :bleh:

So ... no more long hair for me. I can't say that I miss it. I have really, really thick hair, and when it was long, it used to take hours to dry naturally. Now, it takes less then an hour to dry.

I would shave my head and be bald if I could do it without people staring at me. I hate messing with my hair! Being bald would be wonderful! Well ... maybe someday. [ img ]

Oh bless - well it looks very nice anyway. Years ago, in my wanton youth (be quiet everyone!), my friend and I were dared to go into a barber's and ask the guy for a No. 1.
We did - to the wood. I remember seeing a massive skein of hair dropping to the floor like a horse's tail, and when we got outside and sobered up later on, I burst into tears. It was even worse when I went home like it. My dad went completely berserk and told me to get out! My mum said she didn't want a skinhead in the family - but it was too late by then! As the hair grew back, I was sad to see the "suede" look disappear. I'd grown used to it and got to like it. I then decided to dye the edges in a vivid pink.. which later became blue, and then brown. I ended up being allergic to the dye and almost needed hospital treatment. My forehead swelled up into a huge egg shape, my eyes turned to slits and I looked Chinese, and the lumps and swellings on my head were horribly painful. My doctor said it was the worse case he'd ever seen, and it put me off messing about with my hair ever again. : (

It's true isn't it Vikki - if you have a bad reaction to a dye, then the person's face swells up out of all proportion and it can be damned painful as well.

Lol - oh those are brilliant! No, my hair wasn't quite as good as those!!! I would've loved them though! I was a terrible teenager and got drunk one day, walked into a barber's shop and demanded a No.1 - skinhead haircut, to the wood!! The barber was horrified, but did it, and then I went and dyed the edges in cerise pink. My teachers and parents went ballistic. Bet they nagged on at me for 6 months or more, saying what an idiot I was, but most of the initial anger wore off pretty quickly because I had a terrible reaction to the dye, and was pretty damn' poorly. Served me right - but except for that, if I had my time over, I'd do it all again. It was just part of youth and growing up, and I was expressing myself - colourfully! : )
