It's about time you got some real winter weather over there. All I've been hearing about is the record breaking warm spell.

Thanks for posting the pictures. They are awesome and beautiful.

I know the snow's not as glorious and deep as it is over your way Yogi, but although our country's mainly cold and damp, we don't see an awful lot of snow these days, so when we do, I love it.

Summer was good - for us - but it's always warmer down in the south. Our wintery weather's been known to last for 6 months of the year. When I was in London in September, it was beautiful and warm - no need for a coat - but on the way home, just a few miles north, the sky blackened and everywhere was its familiar usual self (dull).

Atm, it's -3 and dropping. In London, I see it's 4 above at the moment, so you can see there's quite a difference. Down on the south west coast, it's going to get up to around 10C within the next few days. It won't be anything like that up this way. No more snow's immediately forecast though, but it could come back again later in Jan/Feb.

Thank you both. I didn't take them, but it gives a pretty good indication of what it's been like, and worse in some parts, where it's drifted.

lovely pictures!

we almost had snow. the flakes were the size of a keyboard 0 and you had to look hard to tell if it really was snow. punkin called it a pretty pathetic effort...

but this means that we most likely will get some this year.

You probably will. Was it sleet (icy rain)?

it started pinging off the windows as we were out for a drive, so I think it turned to ice later on.

It was bright and sunny here yesterday as well, but absolutely freezing cold. By mid afternoon, the roads were getting bad again. They looked wet through as we were coming home, but it was ice forming.
