Golf

Postby forgetfultel » 14 May 2009, 14:52

Most of you will be aware that I play golf. In fact I am Secretary of my local Golf Club! After 33 years of playing this (at times) silly game, I finally got my first ever hole-in-one on Sunday. For once I was pleased to be able to make an insurance claim - part of my golf insurance cover meant I didn't have to worry about the enormous bar bill, as the ace was in an official Club Competition!!

CONGRATULATIONS!

A hole in one is very, very rare.

And what are you talking about when you mention "the enormous bar bill"? Does the person who makes the hole in one have to buy a round of drinks for everybody?

Sorry C-T - my insurance only covered beers bought on the day, at my golf club. I'll have to owe you one - which I'll be pleased to buy!

I thought I'd just tack this in here, as I got my SECOND ever Hole-in-One this morning. It was at the same golf hole as the first one, but I must be hitting the ball further as I used one less club this time. None of us saw the ball go in the hole unfortunately, as the bottom of the pin was hidden behind a bunker.

What a marvelous accomplishment :!: Most people are fortunate to have one incident of fame, but your 15 minutes of it came twice in a single lifetime. Congratulations my friend.
