I know nothing about them, except that the snapping ones can easily taker a finger off... :shock:

in Canada they wonder onto the highways a lot and I don't know how many I've picked (gingerly) and helped them across.

Awww!! I've only seen tortoises in the wild twice, both times in Turkey, but I've never seen a snapping turtle except for on wildlife documentaries. Yes, they're pretty powerful, to say the least.

No, I saw two tortoises on separate occasions, not a turtle.

Turtle in Turkey - is that a new tongue twister? : )
