Re: Test your vocabulary.

Postby pilvikki » 27 Jul 2011, 15:54

oh, i did do it properly, knowing what the words meant, but having trouble coming up with synonyms as my mind is visual, so that the word Stance would conjure up someone standing there, but it would take me a while to come up with another word.

those silke listed, i USED to know, but my brain's gone to mush and all that thinkin's given me a headache.

i doubt the test has one iota do do with iq, more like memory.

Some people have the art of being able to convey so much, with so few words though. Hmm ... I haven't quite mastered that yet!

Perhaps you're one of the lucky ones - a man of few words, but who can make an impact with them!

Sometimes, a person doesn't have to have a startling command of words. A lot can be said using a few good ones.

You are being too nice again. The sad bit is that I thought I had a good command of words. Just goes to show. :)

I knew what a lot of the word meant and had used them on the odd occasion but I couldn't think of a simile.

That happened to me as well. As I said somewhere up above, I could think of several words - a sentence maybe - to describe the words in question, but not just one.
