it's a fabulous idea! i often wonder about these people and usually keep some change on hand when i go into the subway. unlike my chatty daughter who'll even talk to the steel columns, i'm a bit shy to butt in while someone's working.

:clap2: :clap2:

the only think you could have added was an explanation why frank had nothing to say.

A lot of people have said the same thing. I'm debating whether or not to add in a bit of text explaining why. I plan on going back soon and interviewing him, so he'll be featured in a later episode. Problem was he only spoke French and we couldn't communicate with him. Not even Erich spoke French very well, so he couldn't translate for us either. We hope to find him again and have our interview questions written out in French so he can read the questions and then answer in his language.

Thanks for watching!

Of the three that I watched, I think the Erich and Frank clip was the most interesting; living together, quitting a restaurant job because they made more money playing in the subway (!), and Erich's philosophies of life.

There are lots of South American bands like the one featured - some make it, some don't. I noticed that their equipment was quite shiny and new and extensive. They must do VERY well. Do they earn all that on the street - or do some have day jobs?

The lady with the saw was only rowing with one oar - IMHO.

Very good actually. We get a few street bands like that over here, but mainly buskers on their own. They seem to do alright though - and as mamie's just said, all their instruments seem in very good condition, so the money must be coming in from somewhere.
