But it's not a grandparent's place to provide that is it - it's up to the parents. True, children need to spend time with their grandparents if possible, but it's not up to the adults to pay for them as well, unless it's a little gift now and again.

I think that's something which grandparents like to do. Most do it with pleasure - and for free - so long as it isn't expected of them on a frequent basis.

It's nice for couples to have a bit of time on their own, but some can't wait to palm their kids off on someone else. Why bother to have children if you don't want to look after them or be involved?
