I'm sure by now you've got the job done, LOL But try Coke - it really does work!

I'm sure I read that rubbing the area with white vinegar, leaving it a couple of minutes and then scrubbing clean also works.

Try using a curved brush (regular toilet brush) that has a slightly gritty cleaner on it. I wouldn't know the products available to you, but here we have a cleaner named Soft Scrub which is for cleaning flat-topped, glass stove tops. It has grit in it and will stick to the brush you use to clean under the rim. It works well on burned-on glass so would probably be useful also on toilet stains.

But one word of caution - don't EVER mix cleaners when trying to remove stains, especially bleach and other cleaners! The fumes created can be deadly. :o

Couldn't you keep an empty Toilet Duck bottle and fill it with the coke or white wine vinegar? The latter does work well with limescale and I use it to descale the kettle once a fortnight. Tis necessary to do so in here, as the kettle furrs up quite quickly.
