Can anyone suggest a good way of removing stains such as tobacco smoke's made, on white UVPC window frames? My friend bought some cleaning fluid specifically for use on this material, but says that it's made no difference. She then tried Ciff, but the plastic still looks yellowish instead of white.

oooh, nasty one! i get almost anything but cement off with either acetone or a blend of ammonia/alcohol/water with a drop of dishwahing liquid.

i think the formula is something like 1 part ammonia to 2 alcohol and add equal amount of water. i usually go by smell: when i fly on my ass, it's just about right...

[don't forget to take a big breath before taking a whiff!]

I buy my UVPC cleaner from the Bettaware catalogue or the Kleeneze one and they are both excellent and really do make a difference.
I have bought other makes in the shops but I haven`t found any as good as these.

Thanks Rusty. I didn't like to advertise in an adverse way, but the BW stuff was the one which my friend tried first, and she thought that was the worst of the lot. I'll tell her about the Kleeneze one though.
Thanks also to Vikki.
