For me, the perfect holiday would include Hong Kong and Shanghai, China. And possibly Beijing.

The history, the culture, the lore and the people have always fascinated me. The bustling harbors in Hong Kong and Shanghai are the scenes for so many movies - I'd like to see them for myself.

My trip might take weeks and weeks and include a guide that spoke all the Chinese dialects and knew each city very well.

...I guess anyone can dream ;)

well Mamie that is an amzing trip. China is an amazing country with faboulous sites especially in Beijing. Hong kong was all hustle and bustle but a bit too much so for my liking and the smell now that was hard to stomach. Well worth it though

Lol - no idea pink, but it must've had something to do with the residual floating ash.

I'd want to go to all the places with Roman ruins. Rome, Tunisia, Britain, etc, etc.

Oh lol - look how my reply got placed again! Why does this keep happening? : )
Anyway, I agree with you Vikki. The ancient world's far better top explore, and since I'm not the sort of person to laze on a beach or beside a pool all day, I like to visit places of historical and archetectural interest, see the interior of each place, the art, whatever.
