How do you take your tea?

Postby WonderWoman » 21 Nov 2009, 09:31

I rarely use leaves anymore, i add boilingwater to a cup, 1 typhoo teabag, add milk after 2mins. More and more people tend to put milk AND teabag before the water. Thats not right is it? How do you do yours and has anyone got a teasmaid?

Sweetened and sometimes with cream if available. I don't drink much except in the winter.

Don't drink a lot of it but I take it black without sugar ~ same as my coffee.
Mostly I drink herb teas, mainly Camomile, / Nettle, / Jasmine. My preferred tea is Earl Grey ~ sometimes with a slice of lemon ~ it's even lovely cold! :P

I don't drink tea, except for occasionally at me Mum's place.

I'm a coffee drinker. But not the poofy, expensive latte's, etc. Instant does it for me. With milk and one sugar.

MWB, just out of interest! Do you drink / take coffee in other peoples homes when it is instant? You see my point is this: We have a coffee machine in the house and it is on the go all the time ~ with me so far? If & when we go to others houses they are - 90% of the time - not coffee drinkers & therefore, buy the cheapest most revolting instance coffee out!! Furthermore, the 'tea' they offer - is revolting! - It's OK if you take it with milk & sugar - otherwise - yuk!

So mainly I just ask for a glass of water! Claire, is it just me?? or Do you have the same problem?? Everyone else seems to think it is fine, but as I have established, they All, take sugar & milk in both beverages, making it drinkable!

I don't take sugar in either tea or coffee, but do put milk in - unless it's a herbal one!

I had to look up what a teasmaid is. It's like the programmable coffeepots here. No teasmaid, but, the coffeepot can be programmed.

I rarely drink tea. I'm a coffee girl. But, in the summer I do love iced tea. With lemon and possibly stevia depending on type of tea.

I think the days of the "perfect cuppa" are dissolving into simply a case of making it how YOU like it.
My grandma always used a teapot and swirled it round with boiling water first. The milk had to go in after the water, and then sugar was stirred in if you wanted it, but she always used sugar cubes which didn't necessarily dissolve immediately. I remember my brother putting several in because his tea didn't seem sweet enough - and then baulking at the sickliness as he drank lower! :yogurt:

I rarely drink tea. Coffee is a much bigger thing in America.. especially where I live (Seattle). I'll take that with a little cream and sugar, or black if it's iced.

On the rare occasion that I drink tea, It's usually Earl Grey or that orange cinnamon flavor, and I'll take a cup with a teaspoon (1 lump) of sugar and no cream. I like the herbal teas just plain.

I love decaf tea, the bag left in the cup while drinking it and a spot of milk. I also drink a lot of cranberry tea and lemon tea. I drink decaf coffee also and don't take sugar..I'm sweet enough! ;)

I miss the ritual of making a good cuppa, warming the pot, one teaspoon of leaves for each person and one for the pot. Real tea mind, none of your decafe!

If where I go serves me instant or percolated or poofy coffee, i'll drink it. I'm no purist when it comes to coffee.

I've probably destroyed my taste buds by smoking.

But herbal teas? They're just heated up juice!

I like my tea strong, over ice and in the summer. I always add sugar or some kind of sweetener and maybe a slice of lemon.

I drink coffee mostly, hot and strong with a touch of store-bought coffee creamer w/flavorings. We Americans do all sorts of things with coffee - I love a trip to Starbucks once in a while; they do wonderful things with iced coffee, too. :dancer2:
