Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'

because darkness moves even faster than light - so we all know darkness already came and went a few times.

I'd think the expression comes from what Vikki's said though - after it GETS dark.

    Well it was quite a sensible question, so ......

    Mind you, ALL sorts of things happen "after dark" don't they? Preferably sometimes before it gets light again!

    I dunno vikki.. in the winter the darkness is already there before the light comes. In the winter the darkness is so fast the light never even catches it.

      well, yes, that's true enough... makes a total mockery of 'daylight saving' time: you can't save from what you don't have. :lol:
