Smart TVs

After reading this, there's no way I'd want a TV that can listen in to private conversations in your own home - and then pass the information on! What do you think?

Your cell phone has had that capability since nearly the first day they were invented. Are you going to throw it out now?

not likely, icy.

but house phones with landlines can be made into monitors while you're out. or in. g/f and I used to call the house line to see what the dogs were up to. and to tell them we'd be home soon.

Most cell phones can be made to listen and transmit what it hears to some remote listener. It can do the same with the built in camera. Here is a list of things anyone can get for their phone by installing an app. http://gizmodo.com/how-to-turn-your-sma ... 1685355389 Don't think you are immune because your phone does not have the capability to use apps. The only way to make your phone safe is to disable it totally by removing the battery.
