LOl - at least they were quiet. Now all you hear in shops, malls, parks and streets is rattle, rattle, rattle as everyone chats away on their mobiles.

Hello, it's imhotep here.
I hate to admit it, but I'm not that social either as I've recently got myself a new touch screen mobile phone.....
A Huawei Ascend Y330 and I'm slowly getting used to it.
I've had a couple of calls on it recently and couldn't answer it as it kept on locking up with a Padlock icon!!!!
However I've now finally worked out how to answer my calls now.
It was so simple in the end. Doh!
The calls I never ever answer is un-named calls, such as cold callers. I hang up straight away!!
How on earth they get my mobile number is anyone's guess. Bah! :bleh:

Mind you every time me and my mum go out for lunch over the weekend, our conversations are short and few, as she's so hard of hearing. I'm constantly having to repeat myself. :bleh:
I'm too busy enjoying my food anyway. Wish my mum would enjoy her food more too.
She ALWAYS finds something wrong with her food 9 times out of 10.
The dinner plate is too cold or the food is cold, or carrots are hard, can't cut up the parsnips (too tough), etc.
Yeah, she's very hard to please indeed. :sigh:

Hi imhotep!! I was only saying a few days ago that you seem to've disappeared, so nice to see you on again, albeit briefly.

I'm sure you'll soon be a whizz on your new phone! Take care.

Hello Icey.

back again just briefly I'm sorry to say.
Yeah, it's sure nice to hear from you too.

It sure has been a VERY long time since I last logged onto nbf.
I've managed to keep my old phone number too after contacting T-Mobile. In fact, it was no hassle at all, except for pressing a few phone buttons to finally reach the place where I wanted to go.
It's crazy really.....why does it take so long to reach where you want to get to????
I mean, for instance, the recorded voice says "To find out your balance press 1, to top up press 2, to blah blah press 3, to blah blah press 4, or to return to the menu list again press 5.
Sheeeesh.....I had to get through at least 5 menus in order to reach a REAL human voice.
What is it with these stupid companies eh!? :bleh:

Can't we just get to ONE menu and reach a proper human voice from there!!! Bah!! :bleh:

Hi imhotep.

I think that'd be asking for too much, sad as it is. There're too many phones and not enough people to have a menu which provides a real live human being at the other end.

I don't bother with such things. I know the number to check my credit, and that's all that I use, and I don't top it up via the phone. I use a swipe card and pay by cash, because I don't see why yet another company should have my card details - as if it matters really. I bet they all know it anyway. : (

Glad you're getting to grips with your new phone though. I think they're far too complicated and time-consuming these days. The menus should be simple and straight-forward.

hi imho!

I know what you mean! see if you can find out if it's 0 or * you need to press to get to a live one; that's often all you need to do instead of the endless blah-blah and blah.
