It couldn't last

Talk about the weather, but can anyone really do anything about it?

It couldn't last

Postby Ice.Maiden » 21 May 2014, 16:06

After a handful of lovely sunny days, rain's forecast over the next 2 weeks. Spring's over, and summer as well by the look of things. :(

The weather isn't what it used to be. It makes me wonder exactly where it is heading

You're right. Over the past few months, we've had enough water to grow a paddy field in the Sahara! It's not just over here though. A million or so people in Serbia and Bosnia've got terrible flooding. The weather's turned weird everywhere. I don't know what the reason for it is, but it's ominous.

Apart from Thursday and Friday of this week, when it'll still be dull and overcast, it's going to rain tomorrow, Wednesday and then every day until at least 4th June. Great. Oh well, summer's not officially started yet, so maybe ....

I don't think anyone knows with certainty why the climate has changed, but there seems to be a wide base of data suggesting air pollution is a contributing factor. The ominous part about it is that even if we ceased all activity that pollutes the atmosphere this minute, it would take decades if not centuries to get back to normal.

That's true, but they'll carry on polluting everything anyway, so our future descendents - if there're any left - are going to have to try and rectify our mistakes, and think how stupid we were.

I think... maybe... our repositioning in the galaxy may be a contributing factor? have you noticed the weather has shifted "forward" with the cooler weather stretching into june and warmer into late sept?

No. It's mostly dull or wet all the year round. : )
Temperatures're obviously up a bit at this time of the year, but then we get wind which cools it down a lot. : (

LOL - I think we're used to it now, but it might be nice to have a whole 2 weeks of warm sunshine instead of overcast skies, wind, rain ......
