The Dreaded 'S' Word

Talk about the weather, but can anyone really do anything about it?

Yes, we are supposed to see some snow this week in NH (usually not much, and it probably won't last). Mid-late November is traditionally the real starting time. Somehow, we endure... :( What's it like where you are?

Lots of sunshine where I am, and hardly any breeze to speak of. Completely different from last night.
We had a storm - thunder, lightning and a good downpour - but it went as quickly as it arrived. It's about 13C right now.

Big storm came and went! A record-setter. About 1/3 of the state w/o power. Snow 5" to almost 30" - we got the low end.

I just can't imagine having 5" of it over here at the moment - and up to 30"??? Woah - a beautiful idea, but not for those who've got it!

Yes, and a couple of my friends got it! I had one friend of mine post on Facebook. Seems his power was out for four days. I'm sure there are a couple more that I haven't heard from yet.

Oh dear. Nasty, unless you have back-up supplies, but then again. many people over here are reverting back to coal/log fires. They provide heat, you can cook over them if needs-be and even if you have no torches/lanterns/candles - you get some light from them. It can't be funny when you lose all power for so long though, especially if really low temperatures keep up.

We're still waiting for snow that stays - so far, it's all come and gone.

We had our first smattering of it today. It was sleeting early this morning, and then came the flakes. The sun was out for about 3 hours though, so it melted again.

snow yesterday, went away. snow today, but it's sticking around for a bit.

i wish it would stop dripping for a bit as the backyard is turning into a sty with the dogs running around and the ground soggier than a bog in spring.

Yes. Our lawns are turning into muddy masses as well.

We have a horse run that is probably as muddy as we have seen it! This morning's snow (1-2") will quickly go. More this weekend, and with temps becoming more seasonal, maybe it'll finally stay.

I wish ours'd make its mind up bermbits. It feels bitterly cold outside today, but in this particular area it's doing nothing very much at all, except for a good display of grey sky. We've had some terrific winds, but even that's died down a lot now.

And today, it's been about 4 above. Had a few showers, but nothing too prolonged. It's a bit chilly, but about right for the time of the year.

...just saying... water... on... ice.

I'd rather have four feet of snow, 8 C below.

it snowed for 2 days.

then it rained and some of the snow melted.

now we have a blotchy greyish dusting of what was snow.

and - 15 º freezing C.

that's fine in the north country but around toronto... :snoot:

we are not amused.
