Feeding my dogs.

Is there anything wrong with feeding a dog cat food? Is it bad for them or does it not make any difference?

the protein in cat food is generally too high for dogs but barring digestive upset, it shouldn't be TOO awful - just freaking expensive.

now, you can't give cats dog food - they go blind because of the lack of taurine.

I best not give it to them to often then. Its actually cat food that is cheaper here than the dog food. The same size foil tray is 10p cheaper in cat food.

oh, hell no - here, a 1kg bag of cat food is $6 if you buy the cheap crap while the smallest bag of dog food is closer to $4.

of course, i feed my animals raw food diet (raw bones and meat) so i don't pay anything at all. <buffing nails>

:bleh:

lily sneaks the occasional cat food pellet and she has the shiniest coat i've ever seen on a critter. she's not fat, but "just perfect" as the vet put it.

cat food is really fatty, dogs will eat it because its like candy to them, but nutritionally its not made for them, and over time, health issues can develop. the occasional nibble however wont hurt.
