Spraying Female Cats.

Postby MWB » 16 Nov 2009, 16:02

Hi Vettechie.

I've heard of spayed female cats spraying and I've just seen it with my own eyes. My 11 month old, spayed girl, Mary, just sprayed into a bush.

Why do females spray? I would have thought it was only males.

Thanks.

they spray for the same reasons as males- territorial marking. Its normal to some degree. Spaying or neutering only lessens the behaivior and makes the urge to mark less- it does not stop it. Cats also mark by scratching and head rubbing.
