I went into a charity shop recently..

Postby Tomsk » 27 Sep 2014, 23:08

And saw a PG.Wodehouse paperback which I haven't read before ,
I eagerly took book to the checkout and the miser at the till wanted to charge me £2 !!!!!!
Stuff that I though and gave her a piece of my mind....I got the feeling she was helping herself to the takings.....disgraceful...

Tight person you! New books can be very expensive, so to charge £2 for one was nothing. "Frugal" means ... well, mean, Archie! : )

Well what is then? Two pounds, and you'd have a night or two of entertainment. Cheap at the price.

I don't know what you mean, no. Two pounds's nothing for a book, especially by Wodehouse. Even if he got it for nothing, selling it on for that pathetic amount doesn't make him a nice little earner in my books.

I think you're over-reacting. £2's nothing at all. It might be if the book'd been by some unknown author.

Learn to enjoy spending your money Arch! : )

The blood drains from my OH's face!!!
