dead reckoning - charlaine harris

yep, it's the writer whose books that ghastly tv series true blood is based on. and here i was looking fw to the series. :bleh:

i've no idea how far up the ladder this book is in the series and i'm too lazy to look it up, but even though it's totally un-de-off-etc-natured, i love her books. they make no sense, in the conventional way, but for some reason they're exactly what i like to read at the moment. it's all so very small-town and 'family' oriented or something in its style that all the gruesome murders seem perfectly logical and often even acceptable.

you know, only bad people get dead and if it actually is a good person, the perp never gets away. usually anything bad was planned by either bad-asses or mean vampires or rogue weres. the rest of the town is doing church bazaars and baby showers.

interesting contrast... and so very logical.

the plots also are thought out and you won't pick out the solution until the end. which is very good - i hate reading a chapter and saying - oh bloody hell, it was the neighbour's third cousin's rabid pet alligator...
